Why exatly the “Social Crafts” project?

The "Social Crafts" project aims to raise awareness of the enormous potential of these areas, specifically that between southern Bulgaria and northern Greece. Problems with labor inequalities, poverty and high unemployment among the different types of vulnerable groups such as young people, women, Roma, elderly, long-term unemployed and disabled, gave us the idea through this program to try and bring them new ideas of self-employment using crafts and at the same time integrating themselves totally into their local community.

Consortium Social Crafts

We are 6 partners that have created a consortium for the “SocialCrafts” project: 3 partners from Greece and 3 partners from Bulgaria.

The lead beneficiary is International Initiatives for Cooperation, Razlog, Bulgaria.
The other beneficiaries are Association of people with disabilities of Kavala’s Prefecture, Greece; Regional Center for vocational education training to CCI – Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria; National Confederation of People with Disabilities, Branch of Northern, Thessaloniki, Greece; Business Center “Maritza”, Bulgaria; Chamber of Commerce of Athens, in Greece. Its main objective derives from the desire to improve the way of life of vulnerable groups in the area and their job inclusion, especially those more exposed to social exclusion. In this context, the project partners will commonly design and establish a series of innovative services aimed at the creators of handicrafts existing in the CB area (artisans) and people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups (workers).
